
Breakfast Monte Cristo with Blue Plate Mayo Pound Cake
A little sweet, a little savory, and downright delicious for breakfast, brunch or even lunch, this Monte Cristo open-faced sandwich is made with with a thick slice of pound cake, fried until crispy and golden, and layered with berry jam, salty ham, turkey, Swiss cheese and a fried egg. Now that’s the good stuff!

Ingredients
- 1 thick slice Blue Plate Mayo Pound Cake
- 1 tablespoon Blue Plate® Mayonnaise
- 1 to 2 tablespoons blackberry (or your favorite) jam
- 2 slices thin-sliced ham
- 2 slices thin-sliced turkey
- 1 slice Swiss cheese
- 1 egg, fried
Directions
- Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1 ½ teaspoons of mayonnaise on each side of the pound cake. Transfer the pound cake to the griddle and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
- Spread the jam to taste on one side of the pound cake. Layer the ham, turkey and cheese on top and transfer to the broiler. Broil until the cheese is melted and the ham and turkey have heated through. Place the fried egg on top and serve immediately.
