Yield:
12 sliders
Ingredients
- 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 12 Hawaiian slider rolls
- 3/4 cup Alabama-Style White BBQ Sauce
- 1 pound smoked or braised brisket, chopped
- 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce (or brisket braising liquid)
- 6 slices Colby Jack cheese
- 3 tablespoons melted butter, optional
- Sliced pickles, for serving
- Chips or french fries, for serving
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉.
- Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and golden brown, 7 to 9 minutes.
- Keeping all of the Hawaiian rolls connected, slice off the top half in one piece. Place the bottom half on a sheet pan; spread with 4 tablespoons of Alabama White Sauce.
- Toss the brisket with the barbecue sauce and spread evenly over the rolls. Top with the cheese, then the onions. Spread the remaining Alabama White Sauce on the cut side of the top half of the rolls; place them on the sandwiches.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the brisket is heated through.
- Serve warm with sliced pickles and chips or french fries.
