Cane Syrup Coleslaw

This outstanding slaw brings a crunchy, colorful and delicious fusion of flavors including spicy cayenne, cane vinegar and cane syrup. It’s great with BBQ or to dress a sandwich or taco. If cane vinegar or cane syrup are not available, apple cider vinegar and honey will work just fine.

Prep Time:

5 mins.

Yield:

1 Quart

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cane vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons Blue Plate® Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon coarse grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon cane syrup (or honey)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (10-ounce) pack coleslaw (shredded cabbage mix)

Directions

  1. Combine vinegar, mayonnaise, olive oil, mustard, cane syrup, salt, and cayenne in a medium bowl and mix well.
  2. Add coleslaw and toss to coat. Cover and let stand for 30 minutes in refrigerator before serving, to allow flavors to combine.
